Organizational Culture and Theory Analysis
Study of organizational culture and shared mental models can give a good indication into the operational performance of a business. Additional analysis of organizational hypothesis and theory can provide insight to the philosophy and attributions of the business. Analysis on the organizational culture of a small rural hospital in the northeast United States was conducted. Description of the organizational culture is described. Furthermore, the organizational hypothesis and theory are examined, and an explanation of how they contribute to the culture is explained.

Alan Gleeson (n.d.) identifies a mission statement as the organizations statement of transparency for investors and employees to glean a clear understanding of the purpose of the organization (para 3). The mission statement for this organization makes reference to providing quality care close to home. Ensuring patient safety is a crucial part of providing quality care. The mission statement reiterated in organizational education sessions is to create a culture of safety. According to Baker (2002) mission hypothesis creates an “idea that share a sense of purpose, direction and strategy and can coordinate and galvanize organizational members toward collective goals” (pg 5). This organization has incorporated patient identification into their practice to help ensure patient safety and quality of care. This practice directly affects the mission
