Oshc Philosophy Statement

Ability to lead a review of our philosophy, involving all stakeholders.
In my role as a children’s service employee at Prospect Primary School Out of School Hours Care [OSHC], my colleagues and I were asked to take part in reviewing the OSHC philosophy, ensuring to get input from parents/caregivers and the children who attend OSHC.
This involved:
• Discussing with children who attend OSHC about what they wanted from OSHC and incorporate this into our philosophy.
• Ask parents regularly for feedback and discuss with them what the expect from the OSHC. This involved getting written feedback on forms provided and oral feedback.
• My colleagues, director and I had a staff meeting to discuss the philosophy and a draft was created. During this …show more content…

As a result, the school leadership team reviewed the philosophy draft and once edited it was updated on the school website. Children, OSHC staff, parents/caregivers and school leadership have all had a valuable input into creating a new philosophy for OSHC.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with the management group, the Director, centre staff, parents, children, and staff from a range of children’s and community services.
In my role as a children’s service employee at Prospect Primary School Out of School Hours Care [OSHC], I am required to communicate with the Director, professional colleagues, parents, children and a range of community services both orally and in writing.
This involves:
• Discussing my professional practice and receiving feedback from my director, furthermore taking the feedback onboard constructively.
• Communicating with my colleagues to ensure everyone is working successfully, as a part of the team.
