Owens corning was an company made when two glassworks merge into one . Libbey owens was an company making glass they were merged with corning glass works and made owens corning. They merged because of the similarities but they also merged in hopes of getting more money and workers. In the 1900s the great depression was hitting major companies but owens corning was spared until 1938. When they were hit they could not pay their workers, something had to change. And they tried to keep the glassworks but they artsed making more products ad they wanted something big and when they found it they were very happy. Owens corning in 1946 made television tubes and they were very successful after WW1 televisions tubes and they were very successful and after ww1 televisions were an very big hit ad people could afford such luxuries making owens corning a lot of money. The next patat was thermafiber . Owens corning was in an developing age at this time and they made therms fiber and they patented it on an unknown date. After the patent they became very successful and back on top. The thermafiber also sparked an very big cleleberty the pink panther you might have seen it when you were an child. They Still are not it now but they had competition when you make 500 million you are now an big company and that was made into their image. Owens corning now has 5.3 billion dollars in year income and they have made so many division and they have 56,000 workers and more coming in soon they now have specialized i fiberglass making their original name come to light. Owens corning is a great company with a grateful future and they have a great leader who is willing to making changes for the greater good of the
