Plato’s The Republic was written roughly around 380BC and yet can often be related to political systems of a country and the way people live today. A majority of the book is spoken through a Greek philosopher, Socrates, whom taught Plato about the life of a philosopher. Socrates was a citizen of Athens and was considered to be an outcast, as many philosophers typically were. He was accused of not believing in the Gods of Athens and corrupting the youth with his teachings. Socrates would eventually be condemned by the council in Athens and sentenced to death around 399BC.
My career goals include earning a Doctorate in Nursing and becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Researcher. My time as a psychology major has equipped me with the skills and experiences needed to acquire graduate training and work toward the achievement of my professional goals. As a nurse practitioner, I will have to evaluate patient outcomes, assess risks, and make medical decisions. I believe I can master those responsibilities effectively by using the critical thinking and analytical skills that I have developed as a psychology major. The biopsychosocial model discussed in PSYC 385 (Health Psychology) will always be significant because as a nurse, I want work with patients to address psychological, social, and cultural factors
I will bring many things to the campus. I am very hardworking, determined, and a team player. As a four year member of my high school Cross Country team, I have learned how to work to better myself and how to also work as part of a team. I learned how to push myself and to stretch to reach to my goals as a person, and to help push and encourage my teammates to reach the team’s goals. My friendly and pleasant personality allowed me to succeed in a leadership role as one of the two seniors on our team, working with my teammates.
Ciara’s goal: To get good grades in both classes Dated: I want to reach my goal by 08.12.2016 Achievable: This is an achievable goal because I will work hard to finish all of my assignments the day that they are given. As well as turn them in head of the due date to insure that they are in on time. Personal: This will help me to keep my GPA up high so that I can have a better chance of being accepted to a nursing program the first time I apply.
Personal Development Plan Allison Wuebker College of Nursing, The University of Iowa NURS:4160: Leadership and Professional Engagement Dr. Jacinda Bunch April 28, 2023 Personal Development Plan The University of Iowa’s nursing program has allowed me to grow and learn as a nurse but also contributed to my personal development leading me to who I am today. When applying for colleges, I was very undecided about what I wanted to do with my life but everyone always said to be a nurse and I love helping people so it made sense. Due to my indecisiveness, I only applied to one program, the University of Iowa, and decided that if I didn’t get in, maybe I would do something else. It has always scared me to the extent of what I would be doing right
Nursing Management The first problem for this patient is disturbed sensory perception related to Schizophrenic Disorder as evidenced by auditory hallucinations. Short-term goals for this problem would be that the patient will be able to verbalize the efficacy and potential side effects of at least one of her medications. Nursing interventions for this goal would be the nurse asking and educating the patient on her medication and by the end of shift asking the patient to verbalize the understanding and benefits behind one medication.
Nursing sensitive measures are processes and outcomes. They aim to identify and measure the contribution that nursing care has on patient outcomes. Nursing sensitive outcomes are those that are relevant, based on nurses’ scope of practice and for which there is evidence linking nursing inputs and interventions to the outcomes. (Doran, 2003, p. viii) Quality healthcare has been an ever evolving process. Beginning with Florence Nightingale, who evaluated the quality of nursing care based on patient outcomes.
My personal goal is simply to be successful, and I don't mean money but to be happy with myself and what I have been able to accomplish. Whatever I choose to do I simply want to enjoy it, to be good at it, and to continue bettering myself. Becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is my goal and I know in some few years to come I would have a Phd degree in nursing. I would like to help, be a huge part and play a role of success in the nursing field. Working for a major children's hospital has always been my dream and making a difference within the hospital would be my ideal goal of professional success.
Pursuing a career as a nurse has been my primary goal since I was a child. I have been doing a lot of things that would help me get in and do well in the field of nursing in every way possible. Due to the extensive amount of my academic and professional work experiences, I am assured that I can do better than most people with the same goal. There are so many high schoolers who do not really think about what they’re going to become until the last minute. Unlike them, I have decided to take as many health and science related classes as possible, that would help me increase my academic experiences and be ahead than most students.
Numerous achievements occur outside of the classroom and I hope to take part in the vast, wonderful opportunities provided. During my first year, I want to expand my world by learning skills and knowledge you cannot teach in a classroom, but can only find through exploration. I will soon be in a new environment with people, places, and activities that New Jersey just does not offer, such as swimming with manatees. Here I wish to discover more about myself and find a niche. College life is not only about academics, but also about making friends to last a lifetime and pushing past your comfort zone.
My goals for this semester are to expand my knowledge on where I can take my BFA degree. I specifically want to know about different career outlets besides professionally dancing. I want to be able to understand my options and have a better awareness of what is out there for me. Secondly, I want to push myself to be able to better correct my technique. Here at the SCCD, my professors have a wealth of knowledge.
To be able to get accepted into the college of my choice I have to set goals during my High School career. Some of those goals being athletic wise, and academic wise. I want to achieve athlete of the week and maintain a 3.5 GPA. I know that in order to achieve my goals I have to work towards them. Things I have already done and are doing to achieve my goals are playing sports, not just one but multiple.
Career Goal I have a few career goals such as becoming an ER registered nurse and a nurse practitioner but fist I want to be an ER registered nurse. For a long time now I could just envision myself in the blue scrub running out to the ambulance as the EMT rushed the patient into the hospital. And successfully collaborating with a team of people to save someone's life.
My career goal is to become a registered nurse. While I have not currently picked a concentration, I am leaning towards pediatrics or labor and delivery. Going to NYIT would help me with this goal because I would be able to earn my bachelor degree in nursing and then take the NCLEX and hopefully become a licensed, registered nurse. I want to become a nurse in order to help people. Ever since I was a child I have wanted to make a difference and help others who are in need.
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
