When it comes to managing a human service organization, there are multiple distinctive management styles to choose from. Each manager will have their own personal style they use depending on what their strengths are. There is no right or wrong style of management since it is individualized, but each manager and staff member will have their own preferences. The purpose of this paper is to discuss my experience with different management styles, my current personal management style, and my plans for my future management style. Over the past ten years, I have had five different employment positions. Each employment position I have held has been unlike any of the others. My employment positions consisted of housekeeping, food service, file clerk/legal secretary, cashier, and social worker. I place a great deal of value into my futuristic strength in my management styles. Being futuristic in my employment on a daily basis creates energy for not only me but the staff too. It keeps us looking forward and striving to improve within our positions. Another strength I place a great deal of value on is responsibility. It is important for me to show responsibility for myself and my actions if I want the staff to do that as well. Showing responsibility shows my commitment to the organization and its mission and goals. I also place a great deal of value on my relator strength.
