Personal Narrative: I Failing A Biology Class

I failed a biology quiz. Big deal, right? The second semester of my freshman year at Marian Catholic, I was moved up to biology honors. I remember being excited for the class as I up for the challenge. It was my first week in the new leveled biology course, and already a quiz was to be given on the same week. Worst of all, the quiz was based on material that the biology honors students had already covered in the first semester, unlike me. I thought this was just my luck, I was already behind the other biology students, and I had to prepare for this quiz in a limited amount of time. The excitement that I had for the class did not last long. Especially, when I took my first quiz and received a poor grade. Instead, I thought about how I enjoyed the pig dissection we did, how complex and intriguing the human digestive system was, and the other many great things that I was able to take from the biology class. I was not only able to succeed in the course, but I gained experiences and information that has been beneficial to me in my life. Overall, I learned “failure is key to success.” In life, no matter how big or small the failure is, what is important is how we chose to respond to a downfall. I could have easily given up on the biology course, and allowed that failed biology quiz to determine my future in the class. However, with a bit of optimism, hard work, and perseverance, one is capable of achieving any goal or dream that they aim for. A failed biology quiz may appear as a minor failure to some; however, it was that minor failure provided me with an insightful experience. I know in life that I will encounter obstacles and struggle. However, I will not let it define who what I can do and achieve in life. Instead, I will continue to strive to do better and aim
