Personal Philosophy Of Early Childhood Education

As a young child, I would pretend to be a teacher and model myself after the different teachers I had and would say I’m going to treat/not treat my students like this teacher does. My educational philosophy has been going on for the last 15 years. I started off as a parent, volunteer, substitute teacher, co-teacher and now a teacher. While continuing my education my teaching skills and knowledge continue to grow and improve each semester. Throughout my educational career, I have learned a lot from my professors. They have taught me a lot that I can use in my educational and personal life. All I do learn I take back to my co-workers and share the information with them. It’s very important to be an advocate for your families and have an opened mind. The main thing you should do is communicate with your families. You should always respect the parent’s culture and religion beliefs. In order to have a meaningful relationship with them. It’s always good to provide families with a resource book. By providing them with this book it will provide them with different resources that are available to them dealing with challenges such as Early Invention, special services, housing, language and cultural, financials difficulties, separations and divorce and different types of medical care. You can ask the families to volunteer both in and out of the classroom. Send out a newsletter to inform parents of upcoming events. You can also send homework or projects home to allow the parent and child can work on this …show more content…

By doing this I will keep up with my certification and doing research to improve on my learning skills. By attending trainings, workshops, conferences, and to continue my education. My initiative is to seek new skills and learn new information when it is need or before it is needed. By doing this I will improve on my knowledge of early childhood education. By seeking out helpful information that is provided on the naeyc website. I believe teaching is about gaining knowledge and sharing what we have learned with others. To me teaching is a profession where you never stop learning. You will always continue to learn new and improve
