Why I Am Choosing This Topic I am choosing this topic because I am interested in becoming an agriculture teacher. I really enjoy spreading information about agriculture to others, and this career path will allow me to do so. I believe there is a high demand for agriculture teachers because there are a growing number of people who have no idea where their food comes from or what agriculture even is. Agriculture teachers are the ones who will be teaching the future generations about agriculture. This article was about a second-year agricultural education teacher, Cole Ramsey, and the challenges that he faced during his first year of teaching. I was able to answer some parts of my questions. According to this article, the average agricultural education teacher works 53 hours per week or 11 hour days (16). In this article Ramsey offers a piece of advice for other young teachers, saying, “Being able to balance your time between teaching, your FFA program, and your life is challenging” (19). I especially like another piece of information that I found. That information was that when you are a teacher it is especially important to find a great mentor for yourself but you should also be a great mentor for your students, to make them want to become an agricultural teacher
