I am a Senior Software Engineer working in the automotive industry. I write software for electronic controls in vehicles, Some of the areas that I have worked on are engine controls, electric vehicle charging and propulsion, battery management systems, safety systems and various other non safety critical functions such as remote keys, audio and instrument clusters. With all these years of experience, I have been in lead or senior roles for many years. My responsibilities include making decisions that influence the software architecture which plays a very important role in the overall success of the project, and also in terms of reusability of code for subsequent model years, which saves time and effort and thus results in reduction of development cost to the company. I am also involved in selecting software development tools and finding a balance between cost and features, and also looking ahead on how these tools can be used for future projects. My career goal in the next five years is to be responsible for Strategy and Business Development. My recent experience working in a small startup that almost shut down due to unfavorable business decisions has further increased my interest in moving on to a business strategy position.
