BSAD 180 has given me the basic knowledge of close to all areas of business. Acquiring such information has helped me understand each business major and what they entail. I am fortunate to have taken such an informative class that offers many guest speakers, activities, and real life applications that correlate with the topic at hand. I have gained a substantial amount of useful knowledge and the class has influenced changes in my life and goals.
Pinpointing the most important thing that I learned in this class isn’t easy, but the type of planning for different management levels tops my rank in importance. BSAD 180 has opened my eyes to more business fields and opportunities that have influenced a change in my professional goals. I still wish to pursue managing a business but I wish to be more active and influential in the business world. Starting my own business has crossed my mind and later in my professional life I hope to obtain enough capital to be a venture capitalist or angel investor. Coming into UW-Eau Claire my major was 'Business Administration' since then I have changed my major to ‘Business Management’. I plan to graduate with a minor in ‘Entrepreneurship’ and a certificate in ‘Business Communication’. After I get my bachelor’s degree I intend to attend grad school to receive an MBA. Another possibility is to go straight to the workforce after graduation, then return to school part time to earn an Executive MBA. Coming to school I wanted to join a business organization but I was unsure of how much of my time would need to be dedicated to my school work. Now that I have settled in and gotten good at managing my time I hope to be an active member of at least one business organization for the spring semester and all semesters to come until
