In a world where the American Dream is a reality, it is often difficult to find and pursue a career that one can be fully passionate about. In this world, however, Pharmacy has always stood out against all other career options. Not only is it a growing field that is ever-changing, but it is also presents a wide array of opportunities that allows Pharmacists to be constantly challenged and determined to improve. I am tremendously excited to pursue a career in Pharmacy, and with a degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy, my future will be full of possibilities.
My individual interest in the pharmaceutical profession lies in my empathy and aspiration to be a part of the improvement of other’s health. This is a field that has been a constant source of interest for me, and with the shift from acute, infectious diseases to chronic, degenerative illnesses, I believe that this field requires individuals who are aimed at lessening the effects of such chronic and degenerative illnesses. Further, as cancer rates continue to rise, making it the second leading cause of death in the United States, the chances of being affected by cancer in some way or another are astronomically high. As a long term goal, I desire being able to help lessen the effects that cancer has on patients, as well as the emotional toll it takes on the patient’s loved ones, by being part of an oncology team. Monitoring the safety and efficacy of drug therapy in a way that maximizes recovery highly appeals to me, and working with a team to reach a common
