I have always been curious about the world around me, wondering how things worked and attempting to discover the mysteries of our universe. In my thirst for knowledge, I asked many questions which were often met with the dissatisfying idiom 'curiosity killed the cat'. However, Schrodinger and I would disagree on that one! If only I could bend space-time to suit my will and travel back in time, I would rejoice in telling these same people that 'satisfaction brought it back'. There is no such thing as too many questions. For me, there is no better feeling than exploring ideas, formulating questions and discovering satisfying solutions to my queries about 'life, the universe and everything'. I am applying for a Physics degree because my insatiable curiosity and need for understanding transitioned into my love for Physics. The more I learn about Physics, the more fascinated I become. I am particularly interested in Theoretical Physics as using complex Mathematical concepts and applying them to theoretical ideas really captivates me. I will be able to use my aptitude for Mathematics to a greater extent, whilst interpreting the logic and the formulations to understand our universe that little bit more. …show more content…

At school, I received first prize for being top of my year in the Higher Physics exam. I have also undertaken the UKMT throughout high school and gained Silver awards. This year, I am self-teaching Advanced Higher (AH) Mathematics of Mechanics, as it is not taught at my school. I am studying this subject because it compliments both AH Physics and AH Maths perfectly. I feel it is already enhancing my independent learning, critical thinking and ability to solve problems which will be beneficial to me throughout my
