The factors that influenced me to become a paraeducator are my passion to work with children and the desire to make a positive difference in their lives. I want to help children succeed and reach their full potential both socially and academically. When my twin boys (who are now 21) were in elementary school, I spent many hours volunteering weekly in both of their classrooms. I helped the teacher by preparing learning materials and I worked in small groups or with individuals with reading and math. I loved the time I spent in the schools with the children and loved the school environment.
In “How ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ Changed My Life”, Ethan Gilsdorf compares the differences in nerd culture today and when he was a young adult. The purpose of this article is to analyse how Dungeons and Dragons and, by extention, games in general have changed over the years. He writes to other old D&D players and newer players, showing how the game has and hasn’t changed over the years. The genre is part narrative, part analysis, switching between the two to better explain his point. Gilsdorf has uses his personal experience to help the reader understand the differences in D&D from over twenty years ago and the game now.
Eagerness to learn, attention to details, and willingness to put in required effort and time, all qualities I wish to continue to practice as a student in AP English 12. As a student of organization and willingness to participate in classroom discussions and interactions, I believe those attributes of me as a student set me up for success in this class. My enthusiasm in learning has been a leading factor in my decision to apply for this rigorous course my senior year. While there are other options available this is the course best suited for me due to my attention to details and readiness to dedicate time and effort into this class. As an AP English student I am mainly interested in continuing to practice and develop reading and writing skills

I know I would be a great contribution to Seamab School due to my knowledge of your school’s therapeutic approach. Utilising the practice of playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy, is how I conduct my teaching practice daily. I find this is the most beneficial way to teach not only for me but also for my learners. I am committed to implementing the nurture principles within my practice, promoting restorative practice, and building upon the learner's social and emotional skills. I am empathic and passionate about working with children and vulnerable individuals.
After being chosen as the President of National Honor Society, the most active club at my school, one of my duties was inducting the new members each year. I remember the butterflies in my stomach as I looked out at all the NHS members and their parents sitting in the huge auditorium. My principal and head of school were both keenly listening to me speak as I prayed not to stutter on any words. However, with every word that left my mouth, I felt my level of confidence rising. After finishing off strong and hearing the roar of applause, I realized that effective public speaking is a vital leadership skill that I definitely
Candidate Personal Statement: Why do you want to be a part of student government? I want to be a part of student government because I want to further serve my community within Flushing High School as well as support people I hold dear within the school. If I were elected to student government, I would want to unite the community as well as succeed in performing my leadership duties within the student community. I believe my previous experience in Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), Peer Group Connections (PGC), as well as my Sisters Keeper (MSK), has properly prepared me for this position as they have helped me build leadership skills such as the public speaking and a keen sense of corporation in group settings. These three services have prioritized giving back to the community and further supporting Flushing High School.
David Carbonell is one such psychologist who happens to specialize in anxiety studies. Chicago-based Carbonell runs a workshop specifically tailored to the needs of patients suffering with a fear of public speaking. Carbonell makes heavy use of improv techniques in this workshop. It helps that Carbonell is a member of a local improv troupe made up entirely of psychologists. Due to his studies, Carbonell believes that the strongest factor of this fear comes from the negative and self-critical thought of the speaker.
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.

In 2011, McKenna & French investigated effectiveness of PAL in undergraduate nursing student by using the CTPQ and another questionnaire named Peer Teaching Experience Questionnaire (PTEQ) that consist of 14-statement. The authors adapted the PTEQ from Iwasiw & Goldenberg (1993) to evaluate the experience of students as the peer leader.
As students, presentations are something that is required in most classes yet, students do not see themselves as public speakers. Throughout high school and now in college, I have had to present material in 80 percent of the classes that I have taken. Presenting was, and still is something that I struggle with no matter how big or how small the group is that I am presenting to. I knew that Public Speaking was a required class for me so, rather than putting it off, I decided to go ahead and get it out of the was as soon as possible. Speaking in front of people is out of my comfort zone.
