Why would I pursue a higher degree of education? College has always been on my mind, mostly because I consider it to be important because a society can be changed through education. So with my mindset on college, I realized my ultimate goal of my career is to become a nurse, in order to do this I would have to pursue my education. I feel that college is something everyone should strongly consider not just because it’s accepted by the majority but because so many opportunities are opened up from education. I think it is so important to learn as much as possible at all times and if the opportunity is there to pursue you education then why would someone not try for it? I had not really considered going into the medical field during my freshman and sophomore year, but then I signed up for healthcare to learn CPR and be trained in first aid. While in the class my teacher made us to this extensive research project on a career in the medical field and it was the best assignment I could have ever received because I realized that this was what I wanted to do and after this project I realized how much I enjoyed learning the amazing things that the medical field has done and can do. I decided that my ultimate goal is to be a Clinical Nursing Specialist and specialize in trauma. I am in love with this career because I want to be able to make an impact on people’s lives and save people, I work great in high speed situations where you need to be quick on your feet and that is what lead me to trauma. Over this past year I met and spoke with a Trauma Nurse and it excited me so much that it made me want to work even harder to try and get into college and do my best to achieve this. I have looked at other careers only to make sure I have explored other options but I love everything this career has to offer and I am thrilled that I aspire to be
