My motivation behind pursuing a business degree from the Wisconsin BBA program stems from my desire to pursue a career in Marketing and Human Resource Management. I aspire to pursue a position that supports the education and empowerment of youth potentially in a non-profit. Specifically, I pursued the Wisconsin BBA program because of its great reputation and the diverse and extensive opportunities the program offers. My “why” at its core has not changed but rather evolved throughout my first semester in the Wisconsin BBA Program. My courses this semester have strengthened and confirmed my perception of the BBA Program’s reputation. I continue to believe that this program provides an excellent education for business students and strives to prepare its students for the professional world. As a student in the business school, I plan on taking advantage of the opportunities provided. I have and will continue meeting with my academic advisor to verify and provide guidance on my four year course schedule plan. My career advisor has given me advice on my resume and I will continue to take advantage of her advice and guidance when pursuing internships and jobs. Additionally, attending the career fair, professional development workshops and advising sponsored events will continue to help me explore my career goals. In my role as both a student and a leader, I participate in clubs such as SHRM and Project 1808. Currently, as a board member in Project 1808 I live out my core values of helpful, creative, responsible, humble and loyal. Through a partnership with a community in Sierra Leone, our club works for the welfare of other by empowering youth. Also, in a leadership role, being responsible and humble are essential components of leading the club
