Ever since going to Bradley University, I knew I wanted to study abroad is some way. I didn’t know where I wanted to go, or how long, but I just had an urge to do it. In this essay I will share why I have made the decision to study abroad in Granada, Spain. First, let me start by filling in some background information. I am a student in electrical engineering. I chose this major because I felt it was something I would not be able to learn on my own through experience or some clever google searches. I chose it for the challenge and to enhance my abilities to communicate with technical mindsets. I feel that this major would be the one to diversify my skillset and push me towards my ultimate career goal of being an entrepreneur. I feel I have …show more content…

This motivation is that I do not want to be a “typical engineer.” Not only that, I don’t really want to be an engineer in general. Because of this, studying abroad is a no brainer in order to keep me off the path of a “normal” …show more content…

Another major motivation is to simply capitalize on an amazing opportunity and my lack of obligations. I greatly value my creative mindset and anything I can do to encourage creative thinking, I’m all for it. Learning how a business owner in Spain solves problems could change how I would solve problems in my future business. Not only would it help me in my career, but these experiences are something I could bring to others to expand their knowledge of the world. I could share with my family and friends about trying new foods, seeing new sights, learning an intriguing history, experiencing insane traditions, getting lost, and finding my way back. Anyone I share my experiences with might be more inclined to do something out of their comfort zone. In conclusion, studying abroad is a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of the world, and no better time to do it, than when I don’t have any major obligations holding me at
