Choosing to Attend Valley Academy:
In the late winter of twenty-fifteen I made a decision that has forever impacted my life. A cold and rainy day in January, I was accepted to a school that I knew would be a perfect fit for me. I wouldn’t only be receiving a fresh start with a whole new group of people, but I would be getting to really start focusing on who I wanted to be in life, and I would begin working on my future career in my freshman year of high school. If it wasn’t for this dramatic change in my life, I would’ve never been as successful as I am today. Throughout the past 2 years, I have focused on myself more than I ever had before. I have found encouraging and motivating people to help me in my times of disbelief and we I doubted myself. I have discovered that there are people out there who really care about your future, and want you to be successful. Spending eight years with the same people, and then moving to a whole different environment, was very difficult. The whole summer in twenty-fifteen I was nervous. I second guessed myself, and was second-guessing my decision. I spent many days talking to my mom and getting her advice. One day when I was having these anxious and nervous thoughts I went to her. I said “mom, I’m really not sure about going to Valley. I’m scared of loosing all my friends, and not being able to see them daily.” I will never forget what she told me. She said “Haley, after you finish high school, those “friends” aren’t gonna be there to help you with your career. You’re gonna have to do what’s right for you; and only you. Sometimes the most difficult decisions lead to the greatest outcomes.” That day forward I never second-guessed myself again. The tenth day of August in twenty-fifteen, I began attending Valley
