I fought hard for my education and worked harder at the process to gain this opportunity to be in a position to study medicine. Having left school at the age of 9, I realised that in order to fulfil my desire to train as a doctor, I had to start from the very beginning by taking my level 1 tests for the first time as an adult, followed by GCSEs that I did via home study. The intensity from that moment to now of my education has greatly prepared me for Medical School, demonstrating I have the tenacity and ability to handle pressure and succeed. Due to working hard for my education, I truly have a thirst for knowledge especially biology as the human body and brain fascinates me.

I did a lot of research, gained academic knowledge, but most of all, a diverse number of work experiences alongside my studies, cemented my belief that I can and will become a caring, compassionate Dr, with knowledge and communication skills to connect with my patients. I have provided high quality patient care, encompassing respect, empathy, and compassion in my roles as a volunteer, radiotherapist and HCA. I have shown my ability to cope with the stress involved in busy, demanding environments and gained a variety of exposure to the theoretical and practical side of medicine. I have managed bereavement groups, which were emotionally challenging and can therefore appreciate the stress this career entails. This experience helped in allowing me to see the whole person and
