Personal Statement

When it comes to team issues, I believe that the most challenging part for me is making sure that the people I am collaborating with are doing their part and if actively working towards the common group goal. The reason that I want to address this challenge is because I want my students to work together and I must be that role model. I must be able to show them that I can be a team player in different situations and with different people. As a future special educator and teacher, team collaboration is a must and I want to be comfortable and enjoy it.

Because of past experiences, I believe that my desire to change was limited and personally not interested. Skills that I would like to further develop our communication and trust. It is very hard for me to trust other members of my group to complete their work and communicate when there are troubles during it. I also want to learn strategies to be able to communicate issues and constructive criticism. I personally do not like to ask for help due to pride mostly, and I want to be able to lean on my members in this at certain times.

The skills that I would like to accomplish in this project would be interpersonal skills and positive communication. I would like to be able to interact with people with a positive mindset and also showing my personality through my verbal and nonverbal communication. I would like to be more confident in using my voice to motivate and solve problems when they occur. I would like to improve my listening skills because it is important to listen to what others have to say and respond back being able to discuss situations.
