Good morning, or whenever you’re are reading this. I had recently read a book for a class it was called 101 Tips for Youth Sports Officials by Bob Still and from the Referee Magazine and the National Association of Sports Officials. The book was about like the title said it was about tips what you should do before, during, and after the games or how to deal with a certain event or situation. At times they would share stories with you how a ref handle a situation and then they talked about personal stories of how they messed up or they did something good. They talked about things in the past that were helpful to them and used to better their refereeing.
Whether as part of the school councils, campaigning for for a new school ping-pong club, or starting my own online business, it is important to me that I get involved in the community. To pick one activity, my participation and leadership in hockey has had a significant impact on my life, and given me many learning opportunities. Being able to teach and support others, some of who come from less fortunate situations, I witnessed first hand the joy and learning that can stem from my leadership in sport. That meant creating an environment free of negative judgement and barriers where teammates were eager to play and work. Couple that with the learning opportunities I was given from coaches and fellow teammates, as well as the happiness that playing
I am a student in Lopez Early College High School and I am in the varsity football team. Last year in the 2014-2015 football season we the team went 0-10. That means that we went 0 wins and 10 losses. Last year we were a bunch of sophomores in the varsity team and as a team in general we were not experienced in playing in a varsity game, since we really went from the freshman football team straight to the varsity football team. I remember that when we played Los Fresno my sophomore we lost to them extremely bad, I remember the score being 72-0.
Since I was a child, I have always wanted to pursue something with sports. I was never athletic, though. I never saw myself playing professional sports but I always saw myself working with sports in my future. The area that has interested me is being a president of an NFL team.

DREAM has something called Deportes para la Vida (Sports for Life) not just to include more physical exercise, but to decrease HIV risk by making this a requirement to play sports as much as possible through the week. The program utilizes sports as a way for “children and youth to learn best through interactive activities.” These activities help reduce not just HIV but also manage risky situations, avoid risky sexual partners, and reduce discrimination and violence especially gender-based violence. The coaches for this program serve as mentors while they develop leadership abilities.
News coverage of athletic departments can have one of three impacts on the athletic department. They can positively impact the department, have no impact on the department, or negatively impact the department. We are currently seeing an example of a story having a positive impact on an athletic department at a school that is no stranger to the Blue Devils. As the madness of March comes to an end and we prepare for the final four action, there is only one potential Cinderella remaining, even though they do not seem much like one. The North Carolina State Wolfpack have been surging since the ACC tournament, going on an unbelievable run of 9 straight wins, starting on March 12th.
Have you ever heard of the names Herschel Walker, Lew Alcindor, Bo Jackson, or Cheryl Miller? These are the greatest college athletes in history. Even though they might be good in sports, are they good in academics? There have been many studies that show that college athletes are smarter than their other non-athlete classmates. According to StatCrunch, athletes have a 3.7 GPA while non-athletes have a 3.45 GPA.
I am currently studying Communications at Immaculata University, and minoring in Sports Communications. Throughout my childhood, communicating with people, and writing have always been my strong points. As I was finishing up my senior year of high school, my central goal was to help people, which is why I chose to study Nursing. However, I could not connect with nursing, as I was not content. At that time, I changed my major to Communications, focusing on Public Relations and Journalism, and I could not be happier.
For most of my childhood, the sport of baseball was the one activity I loved above anything else. Nothing could compare to the exhilarating freedom and satisfaction of bolting full speed around the bases, determined to steal 2nd, beating the "Throwdown" by a fraction of a second. The massive dust cloud kicked up by my cleats and the thunderous boom of the umpire shouting, "Safe!" made me feel empowered. It was in moments like those, when I was in control of my own fate, choosing whether to stay or to run, whether to play it safe or to risk failure, that I learned one of the most important lessons of my life.
I feel it is important for parents to heed the warning of the American Academy of Pediatrics and encourage and allow their children to play a variety of sports in order to achieve the full health benefit achieved from playing various sports. My parents encouraged me to play a variety of sports beginning very young which had a positive impact on m life. I was about four years old when I began to play soccer, I also played baseball, basketball, football, tennis, and golf while also participating in BMX racing as well as skateboarding. With each sport requiring its own specific set of skills I developed a variety of strong motor skills at an early age from participating in many different sports and activities. Another benefit was being active
Sports Management a perfect career When I was Little, my parents constantly asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always answered them that I wanted to be a soccer player. Soccer has always been my vocation in life, the point I wake up in the mornings for.
The love this world has for sports is something people have never seen before. So many people would die to play the game they love, but why not talk about it or entertain them while the game is being played? A sports broadcaster or sportscaster is a professional who reports on many athletic events on radio or television. In the field, there are different types of broadcasting. Sportscasters who specialize in running commentary can be one of those types, and the majority of sporting events will feature both of them.
Nearly all Americans love sports but is it really worth it. In this generation, competitive sports has become more dangerous than ever sports experts are starting to worry that competitive sports has a more negative effect than a positive effect on children. Most competitive sports can lead to severe injuries, pressure which can lead the youth using illegal drugs, and all the money parents spend on their kids to play sports is ridiculous, and worst of all most children are starting to burn out of sports emotionally and physically. Competitive sports do not have a positive effect on all children because of the cost, pressure/injury, and enjoyment. Most people can all agree that competitive sports are awesome, most people root for their favorite teams, they bet on it, and best of all it has amazing health benefits.
SPORTS JOURNALISM #INTRODUCTION Sports journalism is a form of writing that reports on sporting topics and competitions. Sports journalism is an essential element of any news media organization. While the sports department within some newspapers has been mockingly called the toy department, because sports journalists do not concern themselves with the 'serious' topics covered by the news desk, sports coverage has grown in importance as sport has grown in wealth, power, and influence.
