The single largest impact that any ailment has had on my life in undoubtedly the cancer my aunt suffered from. To see another human being in so much pain was heart wrenching. The manner in which the hospital staff treated my aunt especially during chemotherapy left an indelible imprint upon me. The professionalism, dedication and selflessness shown by all staff members to curtail suffering and bring her relief brought about a deep sense of admiration for the medical profession and I knew I wanted to be a doctor.

My core strength lay in my ability to interact empathetically and make the children feel comfortable and this contributed to our success. I also participated in charity walks with the company BSM in Athens and Singapore where we raised more than US$ 20,000/- for the Make a Wish Foundation. These interactions taught me to be charitable to the needy.
In June 2014, I graduated with Microbiology from Fergusson College, University of Pune. My natural affinity towards the biology and consistent hard work enabled me to stand first in my college. I was awarded with the Tata Trust Fund Scholarship for the academic excellence in the year 2012-13 and was nominated for the same in the following year. My academic record is a testament to my ability and perseverance.
In college, I volunteered for the Annual Department Festival as well as The National Conference for Microbiology. The Festival tasked my committee with attracting sponsors and negotiating the terms of sponsorship pertaining to the visibility of stalls, T-shirts and prizes. The Conference required immense and detailed preparation as a number of renowned individuals were invited to speak. Being entrusted with the responsibility of registering participants and welcoming guests I needed to be organized within myself before delegating work to peers.
