I enjoy my current school, but I hope that Catlin Gabel will offer a superior curriculum. At my current school, I treasure the dedicated teachers who make learning fun and rewarding. I will miss all of my friends at my current school. I am looking forward to the math, science, and computer science classes at Catlin Gabel. I also look forward to English class at Catlin Gabel and I hope that they will allow me to continue becoming a better writer.
I will contribute to class because I enjoy sharing my ideas and learning about other people’s ideas. I am a passionate learner, who enjoys sharing ideas inside and outside the classroom. I enjoy working on projects together with other people.

The subject that I enjoy most is math. I find math fun because it proves the theorems about sciences such as physics. It also helps solve difficult problems. For example, when you build a bridge you need to know when the bridge would collapse and check that it is unlikely. Next, you would also need to learn which methods would help increase the structural integrity of the bridge.
I find writing and grammar challenging, but I believe that I have made a lot of progress throughout the last years. I think this is partly due to my dedication and my devoted teachers. I hope that numerous opportunities lie ahead for me to become a better writer at Catlin Gabel. The new opportunities in subjects that I appreciate excite me.
I am passionate about art, science, computer science, math, and music. One of the things that I am devoted to is math. Math has always been an essential part of my daily life. I am on a good track to achieve my goal because I have already mastered 80% of the skills offered by Khan Academy. To continue learning, I am currently participating in the Euler Circle for extra-curricular math. A former Stanford math professor teaches us to how to complete mathematical proofs. We are currently working on how to prove theorems about prime numbers.
When I first started playing recorder, things did not go my way. Instead of a sequence of clean melodic notes, I made was a jumble of shrill squeaks. To solve my annoyance with my inability to make beautiful music, I looked at my problem in a different way and set my expectations of how easy it would be lower. I kept practicing until I could play whatever I wished.
Another approach would have been to take a break or ask myself why I was becoming discouraged and how I could stop becoming annoyed with myself and start becoming a better player. When I learned how to play clarinet and used the same skill set to curb my frustration. When I play now, I find it relaxing instead of disheartening. I am currently teaching myself how to play saxophone and hope to use the same set of skills
