Personal credibility and leadership go hand in hand and you will not have any voice of leadership if you fail to either develop or improve your personal credibility. Provide us with sufficient evidence to prove that you did an assessment of your current credibility in your team / department, etc. and the actions taken to improve that. Not only should you indicate the actions taken but also include the results achieved through these actions.

An individual – Currently in my team I have an employee who is on the Purchasing Accelerated Specialist programme. This is basically a 2 year structured learning programme, similar to a graduate programme, ensuring the candidate has a development path in order to progress and meet key learning milestones. This coupled with successful performance management reviews, the candidate will obtain a promotion to the next salary band level.
With this employee I have adopted a “coaching” leadership style, where the employees personal development is the ultimate goal.

This type of “affiliative” leadership style, sees me holding a weekly project meeting with the managers and senior managers of the other respective teams, ensuring we are in concurrence with my teams reporting of their progress and a harmonious understanding exist between all.
Conclusion
The 1st study school has really being a revelation for me, with my key reflections being a better self-understanding of myself, and the improved awareness and consideration of the perceptions of others.
With a now better understanding of the role and styles of leadership, and the importance of a corporate culture, I will look to further improve myself as a leader and more actively engage my team, whom are the key to my development.
