I am currently a Junior Animal Science major at UNH and I love my field of study. Ever since I was little I have been interested in animals and that interest has followed me throughout my education. My current academic goals are to continue to better my grades at UNH and apply to veterinary school. Throughout my time at UNH I have tried to push myself academically and improve myself in areas where I have previously struggled. Every semester I make it a point to set certain goals for myself in order to improve. After completing my first semester of organic chemistry I set a goal to bring my second semester grade up a full letter grade. I was able to successfully reach my goal which made me extremely proud of all of the hard work and time I put into the class. …show more content…
program for next year and I am excited to participate in that amazing program. I grew up in an urban area, therefore, I had no previous large or farm animal experience before coming to UNH. My freshman year I had classes that had me touring local farms and handling dairy cattle. One of my favorite classes was Dairy Selection where I had the opportunity to train a heifer to show in the UNH Little Royal. I never thought I would ever participate in a livestock show and it was such an exciting experience. Many of my classes at UNH have been hands-on, which I appreciate because I feel that that is one of the best ways to learn. My academic experiences at UNH have been incredible and I am grateful for all of the opportunities UNH has provided
