Personal Statement: Pursuing A Career In Education

#5 When I was a sophomore, I decided I would join the Careers in Education program at the Tech Center. I was not sure how I would like it, but I knew that it would help me decide what I really wanted to do after high school. Everything we have done this year has been great. Joining that class was a great decision and I am so glad I did it. This class is great even if someone does not wish to be a teacher, it helps them get experience working with children and there are many careers where that skill is needed. It is so much fun to see all the different types of attitudes and personalities each child has. Getting to interact and communicate with the young students we teach is incredible. Seeing how one child acts compared to another is cool to see because it shows how different each child is from the other. Every child enjoys doing something different whether it is what they choose to play with, who they play with, which centers/activities they enjoy doing, or etc. It is always interesting to see how they choose to decorate and design their different crafts because they all have ideas that differ from each other. It is always better when everyone can get along otherwise there would be unwanted tension between certain people. We have an amazing work environment and that really helps the preschoolers to continue to behave like they should. If the high schoolers could not get along while teaching, there is a chance that the preschoolers would pick up on it and maybe act that way towards other preschoolers or possibly their teachers. Having a good attitude definitely helps when trying to get the children to listen to you. Since each child enjoys something different, you may never know which centers will be a hit with
