In the United States, there are almost 700,000 abortions performed annually. So, based on that statistic, there are 700,000 deaths every year to unborn, helpless babies. These abortions have lasting effects on the women as well. These problems include, physical and emotional hardships that continue long after the abortion is performed. The physical effects include complications during the actual abortion as well as preterm birth with all subsequent pregnancies. However, the emotional hazards are much worse than the physical. They include suicidal thoughts, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues. Based on the history of abortions and the effects they have on women, abortions should be banned indefinitely.
