Zoos are Advancing

Zoos over the years have improved a lot from what they used to be. They are caring more and value happiness of animals more instead of people. So I’m going to compare the three articles The Stripes Will Survive, The Zoos Go Wild and Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment how they handle the animals. These are three articles that explain the way that modern zoos are trying to protect animals, going extinct or not. It also explains how zoos 10-20 and so on years ago where not so focused about keeping them happy, but keeping the zoo entertaining. Now, I’m going to be comparing and contrasting them.
First of all, in The Stripes Survive, the article is more focused about having the tigers be happy in their habitat and teaching others about their future. The zoo goes about making them more stable using a program that teaches others about the SSP. “The American Zoo and Aquarium Association started the Species Survival Plan (SSP) to make sure that threatened and endangered animal species don’t disappear. The members of the Tiger SSP teach the public about the plight of tigers and do research.” This shows that the zoo is trying to teach others about their future and help make sure that they don’t disappear in the near future. …show more content…

This can be proved by the quote from the article that says “His cage was a real prison, and Willie B. was a very unhappy gorilla.” This shows that Willie was obviously unhappy and needed help if he was ever going to get better.
