How many women who want to get abortions for practical reasons are unable to because of their state not allowing it? Many women who do not wish to get pregnant can be forcibly impregnated. 14,000 women every year get an abortion because of incest or rape (healthresearchfunding). Everyone should have a choice. So why should a women’s choice be decided by a government that is seventy-seven percent male (time)?

Everyone of every gender should have the right to make a choice on what to do with their bodies. America was based on freedom. Why should that change now?

A woman in Idaho was arrested for aborting her baby. Abortions should be illegal after the second trimester starts. This woman was arrested after aborting her baby that she claimed was fourteen-weeks old. She was chewed out by her co-worker who believed that nobody should have the right to an abortion (alternet). The charges were thankfully dropped, but it is still very horrible and terrifying idea that women can get arrested for thinking about one of their rights.

People are outraged at this kind of behavior that our society shows. Criticizing women for exercising their constitutional rights, even going to the lengths to put them in jail? It’s honestly horrifying that America has come to this state of mind that women should not be able to make their own important decisions.

In the end, the woman that is pregnant has a right to decide because ultimately it will impact her life the most. A lot of pro-life protestants are male. Is that strange?
