Every day, animals must persevere with the inhumane activity of people whether it be in laboratories or even in households. If one were to support the animal rights movement, that person is pushing for these creatures to not have to undergo the torture of servicing humans, more specifically, medical research. Animals should have freedom from the despotism of people, incarceration from the wild, and being the experiment. They should have equality with humans in the sense that these creatures are unable to confront this conflict. It is ludicrous to believe that people consider tormenting and killing such innocent souls is psychologically adequate. In Rollin's article, he states "there is no evidence, either empirical or conceptual, that they have the capability to weigh future benefits or possibilities against current misery" (Rollin 1,2). Even if this reasoning is accurate, animals should not have to withstand misery in any circumstance because torment is inhumane, whether valuing the future or not. In conclusion, animals should have the ability to live their lives in peace rather than being confined to a heinous workshop. The sick, twisted minds of selfish buffoons in the outside world only consider the benefits of medical progress for humans, which is evidently barely measurable, instead of contemplating the significance of the virtuous creatures' lives. The recognition of alternative systems in this field must be brought upon the minds of contorted scientists. Organizations such as the "Animal Rights Movement" raise awareness for animals that die each day being part of a procedure to aid the development of human medications. There is no excuse that could ever justify the need of over 100 million animal deaths in laboratories per year.
