Additionally, the money the government spends on animal testing is increasing over time when it could be put toward better, more purposeful research. Testing facilities have no rules to how they use the money they are given; most of the times the research conducted have no purpose. One researcher states, in 2004 over two billion dollars was wasted on drugs that failed in advanced human testing or were ripped from the market because they were toxic (American Anti…). There is no reason to give any product or drug to the public when they know that when a product is tested on an animal, it still might not be safe to humans. Anyone will say they would rather have quality, trustworthy research over research that is not always right. Using the money …show more content…

Volunteer based, humans will serve primarily to test new drugs and products. This would be done in a safe environment that would make sure the humans are not harmed. The products would be tested first with other alternative tests to ensure the humans safety. One researcher reports, ending animal experimentation would not stop research from being conducted because studies shows scientists can quickly devise new techniques with other methods to find research. Human studies are more efficient and safe to find out the cause of a disease and treat it than with animal experimentation (American Anti…). Humans are more than willing to volunteer to better research. Some say if they have a disease and know they are going to die, they would want research conducted on them so other people do not have to go through the same experiences they have. Even if just a few hundred people volunteer their body after they die to autopsy research, an abundance of valuable information could be retrieved. Several European countries have already diverted funds from animal experiments to autopsies with positive results. Some may say that autopsies are very expensive, but considering how much animal testing costs, it is a smaller price to pay. With human research, there will be no doubt about the safety of the drugs. Clinical research could be greatly expanded if funding for animal studies was redirected to clinical (human) research done by physicians. Using humans as test subjects would produce completely accurate results, and others can feel safe knowing that those products will not harm
