Should Animals Be Used To Test New Products More than 100 million animals a year are killed in U.S. laboratories for testing. If the amount of animals that die in a year is 100 million, it soon will go to 600 million and then those animals become extinct.The problem at hand ,according to Pew Research Center is , “50 percent of U.S. adults oppose the use of animals in scientific research.” But the other 50 percent want to continue the research.Big chain companies shouldn’t test their new products on animals anymore due to the fact that they are killing innocent species.
Animal testing is costing U.S. way too much money that could be spent on other more important,necessary needs. According to NCI director Richard Klausner,"We have cured mice of cancer for decades ,and it simply didn't work in humans." The money that cured mice of cancer could have been used to free humans of cancer or go to schools with low budgets. If there was less money spent on animals and instead spent on humans the curing of certain diseases would go much faster. Another reason to stop unfair animal testing is that innocent creatures that never signed up to be tested on, are getting harmed and killed. Over 100 million innocent animals are killed per year. One believes that animal testing adds to scientific knowledge through basic biology research and helps the understanding of how living things work. One could disagree with this because ,killing animals is not understanding how they live .In order to see how the living animals behave the animals should be studied in their natural habitats .If the animals that are being studied die from the tests ,the one observing them is not going to be able to understand the their living characteristics because it will not be living anymore. So there should be an end to the animal
