Death Row inmates are going to die anyway. Why not save the innocent lives of animals while also helping society and pay their debt to society by volunteering? Innocent rodents are being drugged and tested on against their will. All species have their own anatomy. The products and drugs that are being tested on the animals are unreliable for the human body. With the inmates consent, of course, those who are waiting for execution have an option to help for the greater good. The inmates are not innocent in most cases, so testing should be allowed if they agree. If inmates have diseases like HIV and AIDS or cancer, they should be given the option to join research studies and test medication. We get accurate results and saves tax payers money. It doesn't put us on the inmate’s level of cruelty because it would be their option to volunteer. People are going to be against this idea because they believe inmates will be plucked for testing against their will. They have to endure the pain of chemicals eating away at their sensitive eyes and skin. The results of animals testing are often unreliable or not applicable to humans. Why would the inmates sacrifice their body for testing? That is a really good question. Since a criminal is convicted of such a heinous crime and sentenced to death with no more appeals left; if, that is if they have a change of heart they should sacrifice their body.
