Breaking news, the local school board is considering extending school hours. I personally believe that adding more hours to an already long school day would be torment for the local school children. First of all, the majority of the local school population are very well exhausted by the days end. With this addition to extending school hours, more children would dread coming to school. Which brings me to my other point, i believe that more children would leave the school and attend others that do not have this policy, or just not go to school instead. Finally, most children would not have time to do things they love to do when they arrive home from school. As can be seen, adding more school hours to the day would not be such a grand idea for the local school attending population. First of all, the majority of school children are weary and exhausted by days end, I am myself on some days. In addition to children having to get out of bed early, being tired is not the best thing for academic learning. Which concludes me to my other major point, kids do not learn, respond, the best when just woken up, or when they are tired from an already long dreadful day. The majority of school children already dread the day and wish it was shorter as it is, therefore in my belief, adding an additional school hour would not be healthy for the children. In my personal belief school is the equivalent of going to prison, it is all day every day, except you get to go home to your family and sleep. All in all, the majority of the school attending population already dread the long seven hour day, therefore adding an extra hour or two would not be such a grand
