Many people say that children need both a mother and a father to raise them, but in society, people believe that gender does not matter when parenting. There are many children in the world with no parents, but not enough families or parents to take them. The solution to this problem is allowing same-sex couples to adopt. Homosexuals are regular people just like heterosexuals. Both heterosexuals and Homosexuals deserve a chance to have a family and society should open their eyes and accept new changes that occur. However, same-sex couples should have the right to adopt children so that children around the world can have homes, to give same-sex couples the right, and because they have the same ability to raise a child just as heterosexuals do. …show more content…

According to “Children’s Rights,” “There are currently 428,000 children in foster care system right now”. If homosexuals were able to adopt, more children could be adopted. There is an increasing rate of how many children are in need of parents in the United States, to where sexuality should not define parenting. Instead, it should be informed if he or she is fit to be a parent. It is harder for homosexuals adopt because some of the adoption agencies that have religious beliefs against same-sex couples reject them or the state law prohibits same-sex marriage. According, to the Lifelong adoption over the years numbers of children living with LGBT parents have been a big increase. Also, same-sex parents in the United States are more likely than a different-sex parent to be raising an adopted child. According to the statistic from “Lifelong adoption,” “13% of the same-sex parents have an adopted child under the age of 18, compared to just 3% of different-sex parents” (Lifelong adoption). So why shouldn’t homosexuals be allowed to adopt? We should remember all the estimated millions of children that are in the foster
