Although gay or homo parental adoption remains controversial for many people, it cannot be denied that it is a great option for children who are homeless or in a state of abandonment to have a better quality of life. It is a matter that although it has already been approved and legislated in 21 countries, most of them European, in Latin America is not completely accepted, especially for those who are heavily influenced by religions. Only 4 Latin American countries have accepted gay adoption, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico and Colombia.
Nowadays many families with homosexual parents raise their children without any problem; regardless if they are either adopted or conceived by some method of fertilization. Scientific evidence has made reports on the follow-up of children of same-sex couples for more than twenty years, including homosexual couples who raised children before it was legal, and such evidence has not revealed any difference in these children and children raised by heterosexual couples.
