The legalization of marijuana in the United States has been a very controversial issue. In many states marijuana is either illegal, legal or used for medicinal purposes . Marijuana is the dried leaves and flowers of the hemp plant that is smoked as a drug. Marijuana is smoked so the user will feel relaxed and euphoric effect, but other users choose to eat the substance for a milder, longer lasting high (brownies, cupcakes, tea, candy, etc). Marijuana has over 400 toxins and chemicals, such as THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (Cannabidiol), Arsenic, Cadmium, THCa (Tetrahydrocannabinolic) , CBN (Cannabinoid), CBC (Cannabichromene), CBG(Cannabigerol), THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin) and etc. Many people believe marijuana is a helpful medicine because it makes you calm down and feel good. If legalized there would be easier access to buying marijuana. Then, drug dealers can grow and sell marijuana without getting arrested and profit from it. How would the government get taxes from these sales? Will law enforcement agencies (Police (municipal and state), Narcotics, DEA, Sheriff, and etc) lose their jobs? Yes, because now the law enforcement officers can't pose as drug dealers who sale fake drugs to arrest people. The amount of people they would arrest would be significantly lower which would lead to budget cuts and officers being laid off . The law enforcement officers (DEA and narcotics) will still be needed, because there would be other drugs that would still have regulations. Also, the officers would still arrest people who have smoked or consumed marijuana because there would still be crime, such as (DUI) driving under the influence, stealing, slow reaction time while driving (accidents), and much
