Legalize Marijuana The government has been for a long time fighting the presence and usage of illegal drugs in the country. With this, it has developed numerous policies in an effort to counter the spread of illegal drugs’ possession and usage. Among these illegal drugs, marijuana is heavily fought through all fronts as it is illegalized in many countries in the world. With marijuana illegalized, the government has recorded numerous arrests of drug peddlers and also killed some powerful drug lords. Despite its illegalization, buying and selling of marijuana has been on the increase in the past years, which implies that illegalization is not the viable approach in this case. Marijuana related deaths are very few when compared to those caused by nicotine, yet products containing nicotine are legalized. Criminalizing and demonizing marijuana, while approving other harder drugs without a clear rational criteria is arbitrary. Why are marijuana dealers criminalized, but tobacco and alcohol dealers are not? Thus, it should be legalized based on the fact that more harmful products such as cigarettes are legalized. It will lead to a drop in the use of harder drugs such as barbiturates, heroin, methamphetamines, alcohol and cocaine. Marijuana also grows naturally and illegalizing a plant that grows naturally is unnatural (Grim D3). The marijuana plant grows by itself in many places and based on its natural existence, it is bound to continue existing regardless of its illegalization, which implies that
