Marijuana has been illegal since about the 1930s. Now more states are legalizing it for medical reasons and even for recreational use. While there has been a lot of studies showing why it can be beneficial there is still isn’t enough information to know everything we should know about marijuana. Since we don’t know enough and there’s still a question of whether or not it should be legalized. The answer is no, until we can fully understand everything about the plant we shouldn’t legalize it. For the most part we are still figuring it out. Medically there are still too many questions about cannabis. While marijuana becomes legal in more states, there are more women who are pregnant who are smoking during their pregnancies. However, when people use marijuana they can start to crave it, and they can become irritable. It as well causes their appetite to be affected because it causes people to be hungry even more than usual, and give them what they call the “munchies” causing more eating and can affect their diet. Again 9 to 10 % of people can develop a dependence to the drug which when it comes to adolescents can increase to 17%. Now there are different kinds of marijuana such as synthetic marijuana. Which is where there are more chemicals in them, one of those is called Spice. Due to the fact that it is different than other types of marijuana the effects of it can be completely different than typical marijuana. Some of those effects include vomiting, chest pains, seizures and others.
