Marijuana should be legalized because it is a pure substance with more than one beneficial purpose. It comes from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa which is helpful in many ways. For example, the ingredient hemp can be refined and used as resin, rope, cloth, fuel, paper, pulp, etc. The FDA does not support legalization of marijuana for medical use because they claim there have been no studies supporting the idea that marijuana is safe and efficient in a human or animal’s data. However, marijuana is a natural plant that grows from the Earth and every part of it is useful. Many people tend to find it necessary to use medicinal marijuana to calm their nerves and relieve their pain, especially when they have reached an older age when things are more difficult. Many people use it to even rid themselves of headaches and illnesses. They say it contains healing properties which can be useful for many people in bad health. Marijuana has been used for many thousands of years. If marijuana was legalized, the U.S would save billions of dollars. They could tax the legalization of marijuana to help pay down the national debt. Legalizing marijuana would be extremely beneficial to America. Marijuana is labeled as a gateway drug when in fact, that is just a label to intimidate people.
