Grass, pot, giggle stick, blunt, wacky tobaccy, la la, weed and bammer are all different terms used to refer to the same thing, marijuana. The legalization of marijuana is a talked about topic at the moment. Many people say that consuming weed is a “victimless crime” and that people should be left to make their own decisions when it comes to using marijuana or abstaining. There are many activist trying to legalise marijuana. It will benefit the medical industry and hemp industry as well as lowering drug related crime rates. On the other hand it is still a drug so can change your perspective and lead to many risks.

If marijuana is legalized it could lead to a more effective criminal justice and law enforcement system. It will allow police, judges and prosecutors to focus more on other bigger crimes such as violent crimes. If it is a legal drug to consume, grow and sell, it will …show more content…

Marijuana is very beneficial for patients undergoing chemotherapy. And can be used as effective treatment so that patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Crohns disease but there are very strict laws at the moment so marijuana cannot legally be used at treatment. According to Health Impact News, “Scientific research has shown that CBD (cannabidiol a component of the marijuana plant) may be therapeutic for many conditions, including (but not limited to) chronic pain, cancer, anxiety, diabetes, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, sleep disorders, alcoholism, cardiovascular disease, antibiotic-resistant infections, and various neurological ailments.” [2] Paper, clothing, plastics and fuel can be made out of different parts of the hemp plant. When growing it, no pesticides are needed and it grows very quickly so is a very sustainable resource. According to the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, one acre of hemp can produce 4 times more paper than one acre of trees.
