Medical Marijuana As a health care professional, I encounter terminal ill patients on a daily basis. According to Wikipedia terminal illness is defined as “an incurable disease that cannot be adequately treated and is reasonably expected to result in the death of the patient within a short period of time”. The patient life span is normally less than six months. Many patients are in totally shock about their illness, and the last thing one wants to see is the patient worrying unnecessarily. Many terminally ill patients are in severe pain and are unable to afford their medication; therefore the patient end up suffering tremendously due to the lack of funds. Why should one be allowed to suffer when help is available? The help that I am referring to is medical marijuana. Marijuana has several nicknames cannabis, weed, dank, dope, hash, herb, Mary-Jane. Medical marijuana is known for its ability to leave its users happy, relaxed, and satisfied. Marijuana can be consumed several different ways inhalation, smoking, vaporization, sublingual, oral ingestion, and topical application. Vaporizing marijuana allows terminal ill patient to expire peacefully. Medical marijuana has had a lot of controversy in society.
