NASA’s Funds and More Worthy Causes
When reporters asked Gandhi for his thoughts on western civilization, he told them “I think it would be a good idea. Their fresh thoughts and inspiring initiatives could be what we need.” Now, decades later, if he were still alive do you think he would’ve kept his answer?
Today, the United States of America is one of the most powerful and influential countries in the world. Its connections span the globe as the country reserves its say in every world issue that arises. America, on its own, can be the reason that nuclear war breaks out or the reason an entire country is torn to shreds within itself. If the US did not compete so blindly and ever so narrow-mindedly distort their greed for power with the question of mankind’s future in space, I believe that a portion, if not all, of its NASA funds would be much more beneficial in the research field of disease cures and the ongoing battles against poverty and world hunger, issues that dawn on our planet right …show more content…
The demands to assist our people are not high enough to compare with NASA’s funding requirements. In other words, sustaining our own species is cheaper. A relatively small portion is sufficient to sustain our breed. And let me bring this back to comparison with the United States’ arch rival, Russia, which works above and beyond to ensure the welfare of not only its people but of the human race, and spends far less on space endeavors than America, yet is equally well positioned in the “space
