Do patients have a right to die via physician-assisted suicide? The basic question is one of autonomy. It’s my life. I should have the right to take my life when that seems like the proper and best thing to do. Suicide isn’t illegal. Doctors control the means—drugs that end life painlessly. Why should they be able to withhold them from me? To that I’d say please think about it. Think about what you're leaving behind. Your family and loved ones are going to miss you. I don't think physician- assisted suicide is right because it can cause suffering for family and friends, Allowing assisted suicide increases teen suicides, and violates the Hippocratic Oath.
