Schools are finding that year-round schools are helping students, does this mean kids will no longer have summer breaks? People are reacting in both ways, the question is which one is better for students. Which one provides the most benefits for students everywhere? According to Patricia McCracken, “It was really hard to get involved in the work because as soon as you geared up you had to gear back down again.” In simpler words, when the teacher finally feels like they are ready to start projects, they have to put everything on hold and continue when school restarts again. Most teachers are finding that statement true. Educators have found that big projects like group projects are not so easily done. Higher grade levels who participate in group research projects are finding they don’t have enough time to complete their work. As a result, the projects will not get finished and grades will go down. Getting involved is also hard for students. Children are saying they don’t take the work seriously because they know won’t have to finish it.

Some people are argue that life outside of school is hectic and disruptive during the school year with no time for family. People are saying that it’s hard to find a good time to visit out of state family members and take vacations. Most high schools are deciding not to change schedules because of sports. Families with kids in both kinds of schools often only have a short window of time to take vacations without a child missing school. However there are other concerns too. Children who need summer school classes to pass a grade, or just would like extra school can’t get those classes.
