Nearly eight million students currently participate in high school athletic in the United States. More than 480,000 compete as NCAA athletes. (www.ncaa.org). Sports help students to develop many skill and characteristic that carry throughout their life. The two articles that I have referred to my essay are "The Case Against High School Sports", by Amanda Ripley and "Psychological and Social Benefits of Playing True Sport", by The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
From the time a student athlete steps on campus to play for a NCAA program to the time they graduate or move on to the pros; they are an employee. From opening weekends to tournaments to championships, college sports are one of the celebrated things in America and generates, as a whole, billions of dollars. Not all division one athletic programs generate millions of dollars, but they do generate money. Where does that money go? That money goes to the NCAA who then sends it out to schools athletic departments.
If one were to ask a little boy what it is that they aspire to be when they grow up, one may hear answers like a police officer or even a fireman. Out of all of the responses that are likely to be heard, it is certain that one would also find the enthusiastic little boy that aspires to be as great of a basketball player as Michael Jordan or even Kobe Bryant. Aspiring to be great in the world of sports has been most little boy’s dreams for as long as most can remember. In order to break into the sports world one must first compete at a high school level and be recruited to move on to play college sports.
Intercollegiate Sports is immensely popular in the United States. According to a survey conducted by Harris Interactive, around 47 percent of the U.S. Americans follow college sports. Almost 31 million have attended a college sports event in 2016. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) projects earnings of more than 857 million dollars in its 2018 fiscal year from its television and licensing rights agreements. Over the term of the contract the multimedia and marketing rights payments will reach a total of 10.8 billion U.S. dollars between 2017 and 2022.
Thirsty? When I’m done working out, I need a way to put out the fire! Sportsburst is my absolute favorite beverage when I need to cool down after some hard athletic training. This amazing drink could be even better in a cherry flavor because there is an available market for it, the flavor would be new and exciting, and it is an excellent hydration source for athletes. I myself play volleyball for Ridgefield High School, exercising and practicing over two hours each day.
Therefore, school should remove sports because they can cause a lack of sleep, make students grades drop, and removing them could prevent injuries. A great number of parents are concerned about their kids playing after school sports. Therefore, school should remove sports because they can cause a lack of sleep, make students grades drop, and removing them could prevent injuries.
Should children be focusing only on science and technology or should they also consider putting enormous efforts into mastering sports as well? While some progressively adore the ideology that young kids should focus more on studies than on sports and arts, others undoubtedly despise it. This essay will prudently persuade how sports and arts are equally critical as studies. Eminently qualified graduates not always end up in earning tremendous sums of money through their high-tech jobs. In other words, often students who study well do not end up graduating from college and also miss out no sports expertise.
Student athletes The goal of The Elco School District coaches is to be at the top. To be the best Student athletes need to be alert and aware of there surroundings to win. These athletes also need to eat enough so when the exercise they don't harm there bodies.
Playing a school sport takes up majority of your afterschool and weekend time with practices and games. On top of that students are still expected to get 9 hours of sleep a night and come in with all of their homework finished and material memorized perfectly for the upcoming tests. Making school sports mandatory to students who are not athletically inclined and do not willing want to participate in a sport is taking away there free time and are not allowing them to focus on what they want to focus on. Students who do not participate in school sports are not aspiring athletes, and would rather focus on the goals they have set for there future. Some may see sports as a distraction from what they have set in place in terms of a future and long
In our school there is a huge thing for sports. Everybody does them. However there has always been a long disagreement about competitive sports and if they are good or bad for kids. Some people think that kids should not do competitive sports because there is a higher risk of injures, when they win it could lead to cheating, and because when kids lose they could make more mistakes. However I believe competitive sports are good for kids and it will help improve their physical health because it will lower the chance of obesity, kids will be more motivated so they will get more exercise, and because the more the kids play the less likely they are to get injured.
The eagles win in the city Philadelphia caused chaos for days. Cars were flipped, people were hurt, awnings were broken, and for what? A game? Thse problems are happening ever day. Some sports fans take the game way too far and taking the game too seriously.
Sports are Not Only for Fitness An ideal day for me is a day when I have nothing to do. I enjoy the freedom and liberty of no plans and the feeling of cancellation. It’s not that I don’t like spending time with people, it’s just that it exhausts me. When I was younger, I didn’t have many obligations.
Our society is captivated everyday by the shows and sports on television. Between these shows are advertisements that display ongoing issues around the world, asking for donations to help. Now think about that game between the Lakers and the Warriors you were just watching on ESPN, for an hour athletes were playing a game but earned millions in that short amount of time. Now just think, what could happen if we placed limits on how many assets can be diverted into professional athletes to ensure that more important needs can be met in our society.
In today's society sports are a huge deal, with sports comes recognition, health and so much more. I think that although sports are a fantastic thing for growing teens, they are too glorified. Too much funding and support from schools and communities goes to the sports program that will only last a child to the end of their high school career. At Royalton high school roughly $40,000 goes towards football and all the things football needs, while only $1,400 goes to the drama department. The music program and the arts program both only get roughly around $1,000 as well.
