Colleges and Universities could “provide affordable housing and full access to health care” (1) to their students. There are many other things that can be done to help the homeless students. Even a tiny effort can make a huge
This can be achieved through policies such as rent control and the construction of new affordable housing units. Additionally, we can work with local landlords to encourage them to accept tenants who are receiving rental assistance. Another critical step is to provide homeless individuals with access to medical and mental health services. This can be achieved by partnering with local healthcare providers and offering free or low-cost healthcare services to homeless individuals. Mental health services are particularly important, as many homeless individuals suffer from mental health problems that prevent them from accessing housing and employment
Good day to everybody. I'm here today to speak to you about a subject that affects many of you and me personally. Our communities are being impacted by Queensland, Australia's escalating teenage homelessness rates, and it's time we took something. It's unbelievable, yet thousands of young people in our state still don't have a secure place to live in this day and age.
Homeless issue Of Oregons 3.79 million inhabitants (as of 2014 (U.S. Census Bureau)) 13,238 people are homeless.(KGW) This is comparatively low to other states but is still visible in most major cities. Homelessness in oregon needs to be taken care of that benefits our state as a whole. A few ways we can control and reduce homelessness is providing shelters and sufficient jobs.
Specific purpose: To persuade my audience to be more involved in homelessness in Memphis TN. Central idea: To donate their time and effort to help the homeless. introduction Whether it’s from starvation, mental illness or even cold even climate change, the homelessness has to deal with these types of situation every day. Homelessness has increase dramatically in our city, and with poverty rates increasing it is no surprise.
Imagine living on the streets and having to look for food, not knowing when your next meal was coming. What would you do? Where would you go? This is a daily existence for our clients!
I am writing to you in hopes that I might advise you to look more deeply into the importance of homeless people. I strongly believe that we should start community wide programs like schools, and part time jobs. On the site www.huffingtonpost.com states, “The city’s police department gave out more than 12,000 citations to homeless people between January 2013 and early October of this year, the San Antonio Current reported.” I realize that San Antonio Texas has a huge complication with homeless and every effort is being made to keep the off our streets, but I believe that they are a major recurrence and we can not keep them off our streets. Do you not agree that the homeless are a problem?
We will also look to provide solutions that extend much more than monetary donations that will help eradicate homelessness. Far too many homeless individuals are malnourished and are simply viewed as insignificant by the majority of society. We see them at street corners at a daily basis and continue with our lives without even a sense of sympathy. This is a problem in our society because millions of individuals have been alienated from society and have been subjected to starvation, diseases, and the disintegration of family relations across the United States. It is extremely frightening to see that people are unfazed by the fact that so many individuals are fighting to survive to the next day.
Homelessness can come to an end when everyone is willing to stand up and do something about it. Homelessness can’t just come to an end in one day there must be time taken to find an answer for homelessness. To sum up everything there should be more services available for struggling families, finding permanent homes for the youth, and by funding more shelters and teen centers we can get homeless youth off the streets. There are a lot of homeless people all around the world so this problem isn't only in Chicago. People all around the world should care about the homeless and help to find a solution.
With the increased use of housing-based assistance programs being created, there is a positive outlook for homeless looking for assistance getting back on their feet by acquiring affordable housing. The ability to apply and gain benefits through state and federal programs is helping to provide food and some financial assistance to the homeless population as well as a community outreach programs being deployed in cities all over the country. New opportunities for employment and training are available for those who are homeless and looking to get back into the workforce and get off the street. The road ahead for the homeless population is, of course, paved with struggles and detours, but with the continued efforts of our country, states and communities we can work together to aid in the reduction of homelessness with the continued efforts in creating and maintaining affordable housing programs, assistance programs, and workforce development
In the same manner I believe we should have more donation drop off centers for clothing, food, and any essentials they might need. Another solution. Is to offer free meals at achools, because some homeless children are still able to go tk school but don't have food while they are in school. We could organize fundraisers at school and even at our church communitities. Finally, we can volunteer to help at shelters where they sleep and get their
Imagine leaving in the streets without any hope and any help. It is very easy to think that a person is leaving in the streets because he or she doesn’t want to work and addicted drug. Seeing homeless people in my community makes me feel frustrated, sad and also angry because there are very few people who help the homeless. It seems like nobody wants to do something of this huge problem in the community. There is no doubt that something needs to be done to help individuals who are homeless because these people most of the time do not have food or a place to live and it doesn’t matter where they live.
I say this with optimism, The Government must provide funding for local community services as required nationwide. However only 25% of those Citizens are receiving the local funds. There’s 358,422 Homeless individuals that have yet to be included in this funding. In recent years, media reports of a growing economy and low unemployment mask. A number of important reasons why homelessness continues, and, in some areas of the country, is worsening.
People are important. You might think people are thriving but you haven’t seen the other side of the story. We could do so many things to help them but we don’t. I have been researching this for a while and all my sources are credible. First I will talk about why homelessness is a problem then I will talk about what the government has done to help then I will talk about what you can do to help.
