From kindergarten to high school, students learn that education is the key to their success. A quote that I feel explains this is from the greek philosopher, Plato, who said, “The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.” Education gives us the skills we need to create our futures, in any career we choose. Some may go to school for years while others may be there for a short time. The only importance is the drive a person has to become knowledgeable and use those tools for his or her’s life aspirations. Education has always been a major role in who I have become. As stated earlier, my educational target is to be able to go to college and my career goal is to become a librarian. This class can help me attain both of these dreams. Credit hours per year at college can be twelve to fifteen credit hours. History 106 is a total of six credits, or three per semester. This can take alleviate nearly half of the credit hours I need for my freshman year. This class can also count as a humanity credit if I go over for the needed credits for social studies. This class not only teaches me about history, but teaching and researching as well. For example, every week a student teaches in one of our books to the class. This also helps with learning to research and making the lessons as resourceful as possible. Researching and teaching are vital skills to have for a librarian as they do help others find the right books or sources for anything. Yes, this class does help me pursue my dream of being a librarian, but the real topic that is important is why should I be awarded this
