As an educational leader, I believe it is my responsibility to prepare all students with a foundation of academic excellence. We must provide every student with a quality learning experience that emphasizes higher order thinking, problem-solving and 21st Century experiences. The school executive is responsible for developing a collaborative, professional environment resulting in high standards. By creating a climate of inquiry, students create unique pathways to success. A top priority, as an instructional leader, is recruiting and retaining quality staff members who are able to motivate and empower every student. As an advocate for teacher growth, I must empower accomplished teachers by distributing leadership in the areas of instruction and decision-making in order to utilize staff diversity and expertise. Setting a goal to involve stakeholders in the school and working to create a welcoming environment for parents and the community will result in a strong school culture. Leveraging the school improvement team to create a plan of action will ensure that communication with stakeholders is constantly improving. Parents who are actively involved in the school community will prove to be beneficial in promoting a positive school spirit. Connecting locally with the cultural traditions, the school can move forward to establish a collective goal. Establishment of cultural leadership goals must take place and a sense of identity, responsibility, and pride defined.
