School leaders need to understand the effectiveness of interpersonal relations and the role it plays in the school setting. According to Practice the Art of Leadership by Dr. Green, “Relationships in schools are very important and leaders should influence positive relationships between and among all individuals and groups affiliated with the school” (Green, 124). School leaders are responsible for making sure staff get along with each other in order to have an affective positive learning environment for the students. As staff members, we know how we are role models for the students. We ask for students to get along with each other, but we must first work to make sure staff members are getting along as well. This will insure our students are doing the same. Many students notice what staff members do and how they interact with each other. Creating a positive culture and positive communication system will insure schools embrace a positive culture and take pride in being part of a team which works together to achieve goals set for the school.
