Title for Language Learning Objective: Phonogram lesson with the story from Dr. Seuss “The Cat in the Hat”
b. Content Learning Objective Lesson Plan:
For this lesson, I will have students learning phonics with literature with the story from Dr. Seuss- “One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.” The subject I chose is English Language Arts. The grade level I will do this lesson with is 1st grade. The standard I chose is 1.RF.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). Students will be given a worksheet that is a hat and then the word at is at the end and students have to put the beginning letter that makes the at word. Students will be placing phonograms with the at that we went over. As students are completing this assessment and writing in their words I will be walking around and checking on them. When students are finished completing this worksheet they will come up to me so I can review their words. Once students have completed this part and worked with me they will be given a paper plate, googly eyes, and black paper for whiskers, nose, and ears. Then they will create the Dr. Seuss red and white hat. They will cut out red strips and glue them onto the hat. After students complete there hat they will be allowed to draw pictures next to each word that they wrote. Once students are completely finished with their hat they will work on reading the words they wrote. Down below is what the hat will look like once they are finished and the worksheet they will be
